My 2026 Lunar New Year season was filled with memorable Guzheng performances across California, Texas, and Nevada. I had the privilege of performing in concert halls, cultural institutions, corporate venues, and private celebrations, bringing the sound of this traditional Chinese instrument to diverse audiences in the U.S.
Concert Halls and Cultural Performances for Lunar New Year
One of the highlights of the season was performing at the historic San Gabriel Mission Playhouse as part of the San Gabriel Valley Symphony Lunar New Year Concert. There is nothing quite like the resonance of a Guzheng blending with a full orchestra in such a storied venue, especially the program featured music from Genshin Impact.
I also collaborated on several performances with the wonderful French-Chinese singer and accordionist Jessica Fichot and her band. Our Lunar New Year programs appeared at venues including:

These stunning venues, paired with such enthusiastic audiences, provided the perfect backdrop to celebrate the Lunar New Year through a fusion of Chinese heritage and global musical influences.
Corporate and Community Celebration Performances
Lunar New Year is also an important time for corporate and community celebrations. I was honored to perform at Mercedes‑Benz of Arcadia with a Guzheng solo program, adding an elegant musical atmosphere to their celebration.
In Pasadena, I returned to One Colorado with my ensemble, the Amare Girls Band, and provided a wonderful mix of tradition and modern vibes. It is always a pleasure to work with partners who value our artistry year after year!
Some of the most moving moments of 2026 happened in our community centers. At the Veterans Home of California – West Los Angeles, I shared the history of the Guzheng with American veterans. When I played “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver, many veterans immediately recognized the melody, and some began singing along with smiles on their faces. It was a very touching moment for me and a beautiful reminder of how music can connect people across cultures. 🎶
I also visited a senior day care center in Rosemead, CA, where I performed and gave a bilingual presentation in English and Chinese, sharing stories behind the traditional melodies to keep the cultural heritage alive for the elders in our community.
Chinese Guzheng for Private Events & Luxury Entertainment
One of the most rewarding parts of these performances was the connection with the audience. The Lunar New Year attracts people from diverse backgrounds, many of whom are curious about traditional Chinese music but may not have experienced it live before.
I performed Guzheng at multiple events this year at ROW DTLA and Beverly Hills in LA, including a private celebration at Kar Son, where the client was almost moved to tears by my Guzheng rendition of her favorite Jay Chou song.
